SWTOR: How Ops Loot Used to Work
In the early days, top end PVE gear dropped in the form of tokens that can be exchanged at a vendor. The problem, however, was that the tokens for the loot was both class-specific and slot-specific. Although we had no smugglers in our raid group, for some very unlucky reason, we had a lot of smuggler drops. People ended up using the tokens to gear up their smuggler companions instead. A couple of unlucky drops later, my companion, Tharan Cedrax, was more geared than Arli.
If you’re not familiar with Tharan Cedrax, he is the healer companion for the Jedi Consular storyline.
