This comic happens to be on acupuncturist clinic because I went to one recently and I saw this on the waiver form. I am not criticizing acupuncturists specifically, but I am commenting on something I have noticed across multiple medical and non-medical fields on waivers. I do understand that there are risks, and it is important to educate the patients/patrons of these risks. However, I have mixed feelings on waivers that tell me specifically that I must waive my legal claim rights or I am unable to receive treatment.

I recognize that it’s a fine line between medical malpractice and mistakes arising from human error. Perhaps, some may argue Americans sue too much and health professionals need to be protected against frivolous law suits. What do you think?
